Robert Victor "Bob" Lineweaver, MCPO, USN (Ret.), age 85, joined his beautiful bride, Mildred Ann, in eternity on Sunday, September 24, 2017 while in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving children.
Bob was born December 17, 1931 in Madison, TN and was the only child of Charles Victor and Lillian Lineweaver. He was a 1950 Graduate of Isaac Litton High School where he played football. In early 1952 Bob went on a blind date with a young woman. Shortly after, during their second date, Bob proposed to Ann Reasonover, who became the love of his life. They were married on Christmas Day, 1952 as he was departing for service in Korea with the United States Navy.
During the Korean War Era, Bob served on the USS Princeton and USS Wisconsin. Miss Ann, as she was known, traveled with Bob to San Diego, CA, Bremerton, WA, and back to San Diego where their first child was born.
In 1955, Bob and Ann returned to the Bellevue community where their family grew and Bob's love for the area took off. He continued as a reservist with the Navy while beginning a 25-year career with AVCO, managing production. His third career began in 1976 with the formation of Bellevue Patrol & Security, where he served as Owner/President. It was during these years he actively invested in the youth of the Bellevue Community. He served as Scoutmaster of the Boy Scout Troop, and assisted many young people to keep out of trouble through his business.
Bob returned to active Naval duty when he was called up from reserve status during Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
Bob was very proud of his life's service to his country and community. He was a member of the Korean War Veteran's Association, Life Member of the American Legion Post 5, VFW Post 1970, West Nashville Moose Lodge #2221, Life Member of the NRA, International Order of Oddfellows, and a charter member of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce.
Bob had special interests in life. He loved his dogs, Michael, BJ and Michka, enjoyed being outdoors and fishing, and could always be found giving his opinion during Tennessee Titans football games.
Until her death in 2015, Bob was the proud husband of Miss Ann for 62 years. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lee Ann. He is survived by four loving children: Vic, Ricky, Bubba (Cheri) and Tiffany (Allen) Lineweaver-Watson; 5 grandchildren: Frank, Cherieth (Michael) Smith, Ben (Emily), Kayla (Chris) Davis, and Michael; and 5 great-grandchildren: Dustin, Lucas, Sophia, Scarlet and Penelope Rose, who entered into the family just days following Bob's passing.
The family will celebrate with friends with a visitation on Monday from 4-7 PM and again on Tuesday from 11 AM - 1 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Service of Celebration will be officiated by Bro. Steve Blackman at 1 PM at the funeral home. A private burial with military honors provided by the United States Navy will take place in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
Active Pallbearers will be members of the United States Navy Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the VFW Post 1970, American Legion Post 5 and Moose Lodge #2221. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Bellevue Church of Christ Benevolence Fund or ALIVE Hospice.
