William Robert Lanius Jr. (Roby), was born October 25, 1958 and passed away on May 8, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A lifetime Nashville resident, Roby attended John Overton High School where after graduation he attended Vanderbilt University on a baseball scholarship and later graduated from Middle Tennessee State University. He was employed by the State of Tennessee at Tennessee Rehabilitation Center.

Maternal grandson of the late John Wilburn Jenkins and Sarah Mattie Viola Warren Jenkins, and the paternal grandson of the late Rev. Paul Fisher Lanius and Louise Paty Lanius. Proceeded in death by his father: William Robert Lanius, Sr. (Bob). Survived by his mother: Margaret Jenkins Lanius; and his sister: Pamela Lanius Reynolds; three nephews: Brian, Jesse, Cleburne Reynolds; two great nephews: Silas and Nash Reynolds.

Roby had 27 maternal cousins and 11 paternal cousins.

Active pall bearers are cousins: Gary Jenkins, Tommy and Pat Parker, Jerry Jenkins, Johnny and Jimmy Griffin, Hal, Monte, Arnie and Troy Cunningham, Fisher and Frazier Lanius, Jim and Paul Smith.

Honorary pall bearers are Roby's aunts and uncles and Lee Warf.

Family will receive visitors on Wednesday May 10th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., and again on Thursday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Services will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy. 100, Nashville, TN, 37221.

Interment will be held directly afterwards at the Jenkins Family Cemetery in Lyles TN.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Jenkins Family Cemetery Fund, 5525 Big East Fork Road Franklin TN 37064.
