Rosalie H. Schmittou passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, at the age of 94.

She was born Virginia Rosalie Hamilton on February 9, 1922, her sister Dorothy's 9th birthday, to George H. and Elida Z. Hamilton in Apollo, PA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Schmittou of 42 years; parents, George and Elida Hamilton; sister, Dorothy H. Knepshield and brother, Howard "Bud" Hamilton.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas "Doug" A. and Robert "Bobby" L. Schmittou and a host of friends, neighbors and co-workers, to whom she so generously gave of herself.

Rosalie was a devoted wife, a compassionate and caring mother, who was revered by her two sons, and a neighborhood confidant. As one friend recently stated, "she was the person that would go through the neighborhood and collect money for flowers whenever a neighbor's family suffered a tragedy."

Visitation will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with a visitation starting at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
