Rose Patrick

On Saturday, June 25th, 2022, Roseland (Mama Rose) Jean Melton-Patrick, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away in her home surrounded by her family at age 72. Rose was born on October 9th, 1949 in Waynesboro, TN to the late Auston Peay Melton and Lolla Jean Dixon Melton. Her father Auston was a chief petty officer for the U.S. Navy. Rose lived all over the country throughout her childhood until settling in Nashville. She received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Tennessee Tech University. After graduating, she began her career as a computer programmer for the State of Tennessee. Upon retiring in 2012, after 39 years of service to the State, she was able to devote her time to her friends and family. Rose was also a breast cancer survivor and had been in remission for over 15 years.

She raised two intelligent, beautiful daughters, Michelle and Molly. It had always been her goal to keep her daughters in one place that they could always call home. Rose was a hardworking single mother who would stop at nothing to ensure her daughters got every opportunity to find their passions. Rose was a loyal friend who cherished the bonds she made. She was extremely intelligent, and her favorite TV show was Jeopardy!, for which she could answer almost all of the trivia questions. She was a diehard Titans football fan and never missed a televised game. She was an avid reader of romance and mystery novels, comic books, science fiction, or anything she could get her hands on. In 2016, her first and only grandchild, Gibson Clark Roberts was born and he became her whole world. She doted on him and made sure he would have the same opportunities she gave to her daughters.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Jannis Marie Melton and stepmother, Dora Melton.Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Melton Patrick and Molly Rose Patrick, grandchild, Gibson Clark Roberts and brother, Steve Auston Melton, as well as her niece, nephews, and tons of cousins.

A memorial gathering will be held on July 30, 2022, at 1:00 pm with Celebration of Life service to begin at 2:00 pm. All services to be held at the Pavilion at Harpeth Hills, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN. 37221.
