HATCHER, JR. Judge Roy Shelton passed away October 10, 2012. He was born December 18, 1940 to the late Roy S. and Nancye B. Hatcher. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Irene Boyd Hatcher. He is survived by one daughter Brittany H. Loewen Jeff and three grandchildren, Adelicia, Braxton and Isabella Loewen, all of Gallatin, TN; one brother, James R. Hatcher Carolyn of Hendersonville, TN; and two sisters, Elaine Stephens and Carolyn Hall Wes of Nashville, TN and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three non-related "like brothers," Thomas B. Miller, M.D., and Thomas S. Atchley, both of Hendersonville and Lucien C. Anderson of Daytona Beach, FL. Shelton graduated from Isaac Litton High School with the famous class of 1958, Middle Tennessee State University and the Nashville School of Law. He practiced law in Hendersonville since 1972 and also served as Hendersonville City Judge and Sumner County General Sessions Judge. Most recently, he served as General Counsel for the Hendersonville Utility District. Services for Mr. Hatcher will be at First United Methodist Church, Monday, October 15th at 11 a.m. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home 353 Johnny Cash Pkwy. Hendersonville, TN, and Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Malcolm Patton and Rev. Ben Alexander will officiate.
