Ruby Lucille Long Gannon Born: Brownsville, TN - January 12, 1935 Passed Away: Memphis, TN - August 2, 2020 Ruby Long Gannon, of Cordova TN, went to be with our Lord, and joined her husband George Franklin Gannon in heaven on Sunday, August 2, 2020. Ruby was survived by her brother, Johnny Long (Linda) of Brownsville, TN. She was also survived by her daughters, Sally Pellegra (Fred) of Arlington, TN, Debbie Campbell of Oakland, TN, and her son Michael Gannon (Susan) of Louisa, KY. She had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Cito Pellegra, Nicholas Pellegra, Brittany Pellegra, Blake Campbell, Amber Campbell and Morgan Gannon. Her great-grandchildren are Nicholas "Nico" Pellegra, Joseph "Joey" Pellegra and Braylee Kate Robertson. Ruby was an alumni of the Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville, TN. She worked for the local newspaper until she married. Ruby was a strong Christian and read her Bible every day, and loved watching sermons on TV. A special verse she had marked in her bible was Leviticus 19:14 "Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the Lord". She loved the Lord and because of His blessings, she now has ears to hear and a voice to sing and praise. Per Ruby's wishes, she will have a graveside service only, on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00 am.
