Ruby grew up in Holts Corner, Tennessee, and attended public schools in
Marshall County. She and her husband and children lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Montana, and California. She moved back to Tennessee in 1975.

Predeceased by parents, Bernice Orr Walker and Ruby Agnes Trout Walker;
sister, Mary Ann Walker; husband, George L. Higgins; daughter, Allyson Higgins; brothers-in-law, James Higgins and Ralph Higgins; sister-in-law, Sue Nell Higgins Beasley.

Survived by son, Nick Higgins (Katy), Visalia, California; grand-daughters, Heather Higgins-Dochtermann (Ned), Fargo, North Dakota; Cheryl Higgins Roberts (Cai),
Monrovia, California; brother, John Edd Walker (Mary), Hendersonville, Tennessee; sister, Joy Walker Thompson (Don), Bellevue, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Ann Higgins and Mary Elizabeth Higgins Broadway; various nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Harpeth Hills
Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. The service will
begin at 11:30 a.m.
