Preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mildred Walkup; brother, Bruce Walkup.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Walkup; daughter, Shannon Walkup Jenkins; grandchildren, Joseph Alexander Kenneth Jenkins (Kaitlyn) and Kiely Catherine Jenkins; great-grandchild, Stella O'Kiely Jenkins; sister, Mary Ann Walkup Prince; niece, Angela Walkup; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Sam's first job at fifteen was at Finch's Country Store, where he still visited and had many friends. His life was filled with many hunting and fishing trips. His fun loving and joking personality was loved by all.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th and 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday with the funeral to follow at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville.
