Sandra "Sandy" Werth passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2023 in Nashville, TN surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Mickey; and she is survived by her two sisters, Anita and Ilona, and her son, Thomas.
Sandy was born in Germany in 1950 to her loving parents, Beatrise and Vilmars. Emigrating with them and her elder sister to the United States at only 6 months old, she spent much of her youth in Colorado Springs, finally moving with her family to Nashville where she would remain most of her life. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in teaching. She worked as a Speech Language Pathologist for Metro Nashville Schools for over 40 years. Her dedication to serving the Middle Tennessee community was long-lived and continues to make an impact today.
After her father passed away from cancer, she began doing marathons in her 50's, completing 12 marathons and raising thousands of dollars for a national charity dedicated to curing cancer. She eventually became a coach and helped others to race and raise money in the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma.
In her spare time, Sandy enjoyed camping, bowling, hiking, board games, and was a lifelong animal lover. She leaves behind a trail of giving for animals she donated her time and money to along the way.
Sandy was one of the kindest people you would ever meet and was always willing to help anyone in need. She will be missed deeply by her loved ones and by the community she gave so much to over her lifetime.
