Seymour "Sonny" McKinzie
December 22, 1931 — August 13, 2024
Seymour "Sonny" Glenn McKinzie passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, in Nashville, TN. Born on December 22, 1931, in Indianapolis, IN, to Glenn and Ruth McKinzie, Sonny proudly served in both the US Army and Navy.
He had many hobbies, but his true passion was fishing, a skill he passed down through four generations, teaching them how to land a "whale." He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many.
He is survived by his four children: MaryAlice Carter, Glenda Taylor, Steve (Kim) McKinzie, and Doug McKinzie. Both Steve and Doug followed in their father's footsteps by serving in the US military.
Pallbearers include grandsons, Chris Taylor, Doug Carter, Stephen McKinzie, Josh Taylor, Ian McKinzie, and great-grandson, Sean Stevens
