Sharalyn Rene Vedaa of Nashville, Tennessee died at her residence on Monday, May 2, 2016; she was 70 years old.
Sharalyn Rene Braaten was born April 6, 1946 to Harold and Sarabelle Braaten of Hettinger, North Dakota. She attended a rural grade school in Hettinger and graduated from Stanley High School in 1964. Sharalyn was united in marriage to Milford (Mel) Vedaa on November 27, 1965 at the American Lutheran Church in Stanley, North Dakota. Mel and Sharalyn just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past November.
Sharalyn and Mel were proud parents of three children, twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She enjoyed spending time with family and had the greatest love for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing the piano and everything involving music.
Mrs. Vedaa was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Sarabelle Braaten; brother Kevin Braaten; and brother-in-law Myron Arndt.
Mrs. Vedaa is survived by her husband Mel Vedaa of Nashville, Tennessee; sons Shawn (Geneil) Vedaa of Velva North Dakota, and Jamie (Susan) Vedaa of Manchester Connecticut; daughter Michelle (Ray) Luther of Fairview, Tennessee; grandchildren Joshua Vedaa of Watford City North Dakota, Austin Schell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ashley (Justin) Jirik of Westmoreland, Tennessee, Brooke Vedaa of Williston, North Dakota, Jordyn (Andrew) Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Shad Vedaa of Velva North Dakota, Parker Vedaa of Manchester Connecticut, Madelyn Vedaa of Manchester, Connecticut, Paden Peterson of Bismarck, North Dakota, Sloane Peterson of Fargo North Dakota, Abigail Gahagan of Nunnley, Tennessee, and Jordan Gahagan of Centerville, Tennessee; great grandchild Gibson Jirik of Westmoreland, Tennessee; sister Donette Arndt of Grand Forks, North Dakota; brother Garland (Debbie) Braaten of Powers Lake, North Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee 37221. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Vedaa, Austin Schell, Shad Vedaa, Parker Vedaa, Justin Jirik, and SGT. Andrew Davis.
