Shirley Jean Mech, age 83 of Winder, GA went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2015.

Mrs. Mech was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Mech, Jr. who passed away on June 6, 1988.

She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on September 7, 1931 to the late Leslie & Mary Jane Epperson.

Mama Mech was a wonderful woman; with a great love of family, reading, Civil War history and all University of Memphis sports. She was a gentle soul with a wry since of humor. She will be loved and missed greatly.

Shirley retired from Equifax in Memphis, TN.

She is survived by her loving children, John (Tami) Mech, Jeff (Rhonda) Mech, & JoAnne (Steve) Johnson; 14 grandchildren; & 3 great grandchildren.

The Mech family will be receiving friends at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, Nashville, TN on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 4:00 pm for a celebration of Mrs. Mech's life.

Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
