Mrs. Sonja Conner, age 61, was surrounded by her family and friends as she went to be with her heavenly father. Sonja was born July 30, 1957 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Charles and Barbara Ragan. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Ragan and sister, Beverly Brown.

Sonja is survived by her husband of 35 years, John Haley Conner; daughter, Haley (Chad) Boyd; daughter, Kristi (Christopher) Glass; son Chase (Mandy) Conner; and Chad Fewell, whom she loved liked a son. Grandchildren, Brack Boyd, John Thomas Glass, Rosa Mayanne Glass, Karalyne Boyd, Beverly Ragan Glass and Tucker Jaxxon Glass. And a host of nieces, nephews, friends and all of the people she "adopted" as her kids.

Sonja, also known as "Momma Conner" loved loving people. She "adopted" many kids and loved them as her own. She was an amazing cook and had an incurable love of decorating for Christmas. Her Christmas decorations would make the house glow for miles. Everyone was always welcome in her home.

She attended Pasquo Church of Christ, Fairview Church of Christ and Berry's Chapel Church of Christ. Sonja loved her job as office manager for the Rivergate Skate Center. Sonja also enjoyed styling hair and fixing nails for the young women going to prom. Her indulgence was getting her nails fixed, and they had to be perfect. She gave much of her time to the Community Recreation Center where she enjoyed helping and watching her kids play ball.

Sonja had many nicknames like "ankle biter" and "Chihuahua". She had such a beautiful, kind heart but could also take a joke. Sonja has also been known to be quick witted and full of humor.
Through her lengthy illness, she never complained. Outside of her family, you never knew when she was in pain. Her family remembers her as a fighter and she put down her armor on Monday, March 11, 2019. She has taken residence at the feet of Jesus.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 - 2 p.m. at Fairview Church of Christ. A life celebration service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16th at the church with Mr. Jason Shepherd speaking. Interment will follow at a later date in the Garden of Atonement of Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Harpeth Hills Funeral Home assisting the family.
