Sophie Elena Dadej passed on August 1st, 2019, after heroically battling rhabdomyosarcoma for four years. Born on November 2nd, 2008, Sophie was deeply loved by all who met her, and she was adored by her mother, brother, grandparents, and her entire family.
Sophie was creative and gifted with a quick wit and humor that far surpassed her age. To the end of her life, she could transform a room with an unexpected joke. She loved movies and stories about adventure, as well as those that focused on family. She loved music and dancing, drawing and all that allowed her to exercise her artistic gifts.
"Super Sophie" was the name given to her after her first diagnosis. No name could have been more fitting. She fought cancer in its ugliest form with utmost bravery. She never wavered in the fight, and she inspired thousands who followed her story through the words of her mother, Mary Dadej. Sophie was the brightest light with a boundless, unfaltering spirit. She will be desperately missed but never forgotten, and her legacy will echo through the many who were forever changed by her courage.
