Stephen W. Elsner, age 66, died December 20, 2015. Born February 21, 1949 in Chattanooga, TN.

Steve played basketball at East Ridge High School and played for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Moccasins. He received his M.Ed. from MTSU.

He is preceded in death by his father Floyd "Bud" Elsner and stepfather, Harry Rusbridge.

Steve was an avid hunter & fisherman and treasured any time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Janis Quay; children Katie Elizabeth Bodenhamer, (Arnett), Stephen "Dylan" Elsner, Sophia Rose Douglas (Victor); grandchildren, Maddux Bodenhamer, Myles Bodenhamer, and Lyla Rose Douglas; mother, Irene Rusbridge; brother Ralph "Tommy" Elsner (Mary), sister Cathy Wilson; also survived by several nieces and nephews and many other loving family members.

A visitation will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home from 5:30-8pm Wednesday Dec 23. A celebration of life service will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home at 10am Thursday, Dec. 24. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Brain Injury Association of Tennessee.
