Stephen James Tolson

Stephen James Tolson, known affectionately as "Tex," passed away on July 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of honor and accomplishment. He was born on December 5, 1947, in San Rafael, California.


Steve proudly served his country in the H 1st Battalion 41st Infantry 2nd Armed Division in Fort Hood, Texas, as part of the 4th US Army. During his service, he received several decorations and medals which included the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Marksman (Rifle M-14), Expert (Rifle M-14), Combat Infantry Badge (Rifle M-16), and Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze stars.


Apart from his military service, Steve had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He found solace in music recording and engineering, playing and composing songs with his guitar, spending time with his cat, enjoying cowboy movies, delving into science fiction novels, and cherishing moments shared with friends and family.


His proudest accomplishments extended beyond his military and personal interests. Steve obtained prelicensing Part A & B at the Nashville School of Real Estate and achieved the prestigious "Worm Eaters Diploma" at Alfonso's of La Jocia on May 5, 1987. Furthermore, he excelled as a master music recording engineer at Masterfonics Music Studios.


Steve is survived by his loving daughter Harley Tolson and son-in-law Alex Seymour. In their time of grief, may they find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him.


Services will take place on July 18, 2024. A visitation will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.


Stephen James Tolson will always be remembered for his dedication to his country, passion for music, love for family, and numerous accomplishments throughout his life.
