Steven Horner passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023 at his mother's home. Born in East Grand Rapids MI, he was a passionate educator and bioengineering researcher and taught at the University of Wyoming, Bucknell University, and the Citadel. He received his Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering
at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. A graduate of North Allegheny High School, he was a big classical music fan, and played trombone in the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony and The North Allegheny brass quintet. His love for the trombone grew out of his passion for trains and their trombone-like horns. He also loved planting trees, many of which tower over his mother's house now. He is survived by his mother Janice and brother Andrew.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
