Teresa (Terri) D. Freeman Baker, 47, was born in Franklin, Tennessee on February 2, 1971. Her family moved to Dickson County when she was in grade school. Terri was an avid cook who loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. She was known to deliver meals if there was a baby to hold. She took great pride in her cookie business, A Wise Cookie, which provided a healthy gluten free variety of cookies. Her creations and recipes will continue on with her children. From a very early age Terri loved music and began piano lessons and singing in the church choir. She passed her talent and love for music to her children; she always found solace and joy in listening to them sing. She enjoyed horseback riding with family and friends. Traveling the world became an interest in recent years and she enjoyed many adventures with her daughters and friends to California, New York and Italy. Her favorite destination was any beach where she could enjoy the waves and sink her toes in the sand preferably with her Six Blessings. Her strong Christian faith enabled her inner strength to be seen by others as a fun-loving free spirit which drew people to her. Terri was an incredible gift giver who received joy from the act. Her positive outlook made people want to be around her; her smile would light up a room. This will be part of her legacy to those who knew and loved her. She was an amazing mother, loving daughter, a big sister and incredible friend. She was determined to finish well.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents S.F. Blackburn and Lila Blackburn of Fairview, Tennessee and Jayne Hawthorne of Houck, Arizona.
She is survived by her children, who she referred to as her treasure, her heart, her blessings: Briana Lane, Rilee Ann, Ethan Daniel, Willow Grace, Josiah Luke and Kasidi Rose Baker of Dickson, her mother Shirley Ann Galya (Bobby) of Dickson, and father Robert D. Freeman, Sr. of Brentwood and her siblings Katherine McKenzie (Eric, Aidan and Graeme) of Savannah, Georgia and Robert D. Freeman, Jr. (Maria, Brett and Emily) of Bellevue, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many wonderful, supportive friends.
Visitation with the family will be held from 3- 6 pm with a Memorial Service to follow, Saturday February 17, 2018 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221. We will Celebrate her life on Sunday, February 18, 2018 beginning at 6:30 pm at Events on Main in downtown Dickson.
