Thomas (Tom) William Adam, age 79 of Nashville, TN passed away on September 11, 2021. He was the epitome of a loving family man, dedicated to his wife, and incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved God, country and family. He loved making people laugh and even telling the nurses jokes up until his last days. He was an extremely generous man and would do anything for family, friends or neighbors. He loved giving lottery tickets to friends and family with the hopes that someone would win big someday.
Tom was born June 2,1942 to the late Frank and Margaret Adam in North Plainfield, NJ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Richard Adam, James Adam and Frank Adam.
Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Underwood Adam, and their four children, daughter Kelly LaRocque (Jeffrey), son Patrick Adam (Jan), son Michael Adam, and son TJ Adam (Robin). He is survived by four grandchildren, Emily LaRocque, Carli LaRocque, Hailey Adam and Porter Adam.
Tom was a graduate of Edison High School in New Jersey where he played varsity basketball and football. After high school he proudly served in the United States Navy. While working in Washington DC he met the love of his life Jane Kelly Underwood. They married in 1965. They lived and raised their four children in Plainfield, NJ before moving to Nashville, TN in 2000.
Tom had many successful seasons while coaching CYO basketball for Sacred Heart School, South Plainfield, NJ. He enjoyed watching all sports and playing golf.
He worked for Public Service Electric and Gas and The Prudential Life Insurance Company. He was an active member of the VFW and American Legion.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday September 20, 2021 from 9:30am - 11:00am at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN. A celebration of life Mass to follow at 11:00. A live-stream of the Mass will be provided via the following link: https://vimeo.com/event/274893
1:00pm cemetery ceremony following at Middle TN Veteran’s Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane Nashville, TN.
