Thomas R. Butler, Jr. age 64 passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, with his loving family by his side. Mr. Butler was born on May 11, 1957, in Nashville, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Thomas R. Butler, Sr. and Annie Corena Butler and his brother John Grundy “Scooter Bill” Butler.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 48 years Donna Gail Walton Butler of Nashville. His daughter Deborah A. Butler of Nashville, sister Mary (Chris) Spain of Fairview, nephew Chris (Corrie) Butler of Fairview, niece Amanda Spain of Fairview, great nephew Maddox Butler of Fairview, and Aunt Betty Butler of Nashville. Many other close family and friends.
Mr. Butler was the best husband and daddy in the world. He was a hard worker and provided for his family. He loved spending time with his wife and daughter; especially, going to sporting events and traveling. He particularly loved Braves, Sounds, Predators and Vanderbilt sports.
He worked for over 20 years as a Steelworker for IKG Industries. After retiring from IKG, Mr. Butler worked for a number of companies such as a delivery driver for Integrity Home Care, running the mailroom at HCA Centennial Hospital, shuttle driver for Hearth of Franklin, and shuttle driver for Vanderbilt Medical, where he finally retired in November 2020.
Mr. Butler had a joyful personality and he was light in this world. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone who needed his help. Mr. Butler was a man of integrity, honor, and faith. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation with family will be on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 10 am to Noon Celebration of Life from Noon to 1 pm Reception to follow Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, Hwy 100, Nashville
