Thomas Ray Jackson, affectionately known as Tommy, age 69, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. He was known for deeply loving his family and his good-natured teasing. There was not much that he wouldn’t do to be able to spend time with his grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
Tommy enjoyed the outdoors and bass fishing. He had a heart for animals, and a very special connection to his dogs, Lucy and Ethel. His kind heart and generous personality were shared with everyone he met. He was known to help anyone that he was able to, including pulling cash out of his wallet for those that needed a helping hand.
Tommy served his country in the United States Marine Corps and proudly supported his friends at the Nashville VA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Acy and Etta Durham Jackson.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Paula Kay Jackson; sons, Clinton Ray Jackson (Jon Hannan), and Jeremy Thomas Jackson (Nancy); brothers, Jesse Tritschler (Marcie), Randal Jackson (Doris), Marty Jackson (Diane), Acy Douglas Jackson; sisters, Norma Jean Wright (Sharron Martin), Artie Ruffini (Marty), Sandra Osborne (Ira), Bridget Oakley (Bill), and Sherene Jackson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maxwell Thomas Jackson, Atticus Carter Jackson, and Lilith Moon Jackson; and many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, and great grand nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Disabled American Veterans, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children in Tommy’s honor.
