Mrs. Vernie Cole Jones, age 80, of Fairview, Tennessee passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. She was born October 17, 1937, in Charleston, Mississippi to the late George Lambert Cole, Sr., and Doris Isma Jennings Cole.

In addition to her parents Vernie was preceded in death by a brother Odie Alvin Cole, and grandson Jesse Jones.

Surviving Mrs. Jones are her devoted husband of 59 years, Avery M. Jones. Daughters Nita (Tim) Goodman, and Queta Jones. Son Bo (Jenny) Jones. Grandchildren; Brian Ross, Levi Jones, Kate Jones, Danielle Goodman Matthew Shuttleworth, Mitchell Shuttleworth. Sisters; Jane Knighten, Mary Morgan, and Faye Starnes. Brothers; G.L Cole, Jr., Larry (Dot) Cole, Terry (Jamie) Cole, and Robert (Judy) Cole.

A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, at the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens at one o'clock in the afternoon with Brother Avery M. Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from eleven thirty in the morning until one o'clock in the afternoon at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the St Jude's Children Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Heart Failure Society of America 9211 Cooperate Blvd., Suite 270, Rockville, MD 20850 in Mrs. Jones memory.
