Vivian Dattoli Fuqua, age 87 of Franklin, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Vivian met the love of her life on a blind date in New Orleans while in nursing school. She and Joe were married for 40 years and had 3 children whom she cherished and one son who she lost but was never forgotten. She had a long term career as a Nursing Supervisor at the Lentz Public Health Department in Nashville.
Vivian was born during the Great Depression in Birmingham, AL, the only child of Italian immigrants. As a devoted daughter, she cared for her mother for 27 years in her own home after her father died.
She had many wonderful and unique traits such as resiliency which allowed her to survive many of life's challenges. She was also a selfless person and took a much greater joy in giving than receiving. As an avid reader, she enjoyed her book clubs, loved her church family, and was a great prayer warrior. Vivian was a detailed planner, a master negotiator, a perfectionist, and when she wanted something, she was determined, persistent and pursued it with great passion. She was extremely proud of and adored all her children, grandchildren and great grandchild, and they adored her as well. As lover of flowers, her yard was always blooming which gave her great pleasure. She was a fashionista, a great interior decorator, and she could play a mean game of King Rummy. Animals tried their best to love her, but the feeling was not mutual!
Vivian's family is eternally grateful for her love and maintenance of her beautiful Tim's Ford lake house and it will be a lasting legacy for her family and friends to enjoy for many years to come.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Josephine Dattoli and by her husband, Joe and their son, Robert. She is survived by son, Joseph (Teresa); daughters, Carol Koenig (Steve), Lisa Poynter (Mike); grandchildren, Susan Jennings, Allison Williams, Clint, Austin & Kathryn Koenig, Leslie & Frankie Poynter, & great granddaughter, Caroline Jennings. Pallbearers will be Steve Koenig, Clint Koenig, Austin Koenig, Mike Poynter, John Jennings, & Tommy Williams.
Visitation will be held from 11am - 1pm on December 15 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 535 Sneed Rd. West, Franklin, followed by funeral Mass. After the service, interment will be at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN.
