Kevin Barnett, age 61, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on January 13, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.  He was born on May 30, 1962, in San Diego, California, and grew up in middle Tennessee. Kevin played basketball at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  Kevin married the love of his life Cindy in Nashville in 1992 and they spent over thirty-one years together building a home and a family.  He is survived by his loving wife Cindy, daughter Lauren, and son Brett.  He is also survived by his father Mac Barnett (Nancy), sister Kerri Barnett, and numerous other relatives.

Kevin lived a full life with many interests, including racing Alfa Romeos, waterskiing at Center Hill Lake, riding bicycles around the neighborhood, and reading spy thriller novels, preferably by the pool. He enjoyed a lengthy career as a financial advisor to local governments. His ideal evening was being surrounded by family and friends watching the sun set over the ocean with a cold beer in his hand, burgers on the grill, and Jimmy Buffet playing in the background. He was also an avid sports fan and shared his passion for basketball by coaching youth leagues and attending sporting events with his family.  He was a loyal supporter of Vanderbilt athletics and the Tennessee Titans.  Over the years, Kevin was a devoted participant in all of his children’s activities, most recently cheering Lauren on at her triathlons and visiting Brett at his fire station. He was a great source of love, encouragement, and support to his family and will be dearly missed.
