William "Bill" Passon

d. February 7, 2024

William (Bill) Passon (83) passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, after being hospitalized with a serious illness. Baptized in the Baptist faith, Bill had an unwavering belief in his lord and savior.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Cora Passon; sister, Sally Thompson; brother, Gerald Passon, II; mother-in-law, Louise Treichel; father-in-law, John Treichel; brother-in-law, John Gruenwald; stepfather, Hank Ward and nephew, Chris Passon.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Terry Passon; son, Eric (Joanne) Passon; daughter, Paige (Scott) Landis; daughter, Penny Passon; sister, Sherry (Donald) Wray; sister-in-law, Alberta Passon; brother-in-law, Steven (Denise) Treichel; sister-in-law, Barbara Gruenwald; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Tippecanoe high school in 1959 and served in the US Army reserves.

Bill had an impressive career with Western Electric, Bellsouth Mobility, Cingular Cellular and AT&T for a combined 40 years of service. In Florida he worked on the first cell towers for cellular phones. He retired in July of 2002.

Bill had a passion for Chevy Corvettes and Harley Davidson motorcycles, many of which he owned during his lifetime, along with a 1946 red Chevy pickup truck. He was in his element when riding with his "gang" and racing his Harley, driving his Corvettes, and tinkering with vintage cars and trucks. Later in life he revisited the hobby of pocket billiards. Bill made an intentional effort to keep in touch with the relationships he formed throughout his life.

Regardless of a person's station in life, Bill never met a stranger. He was a friend to many and a loving, supportive and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and grandfather. His family and friends have lost a treasure, but he will remain in their hearts forever.

Burial services are to be held in his hometown of Greenville, Ohio. A celebration of life will be scheduled in Tennessee in the future.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Bill's memory to AliveHospice.org or to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org.
