Billy held a quiet but strong faith in his Creator and the Creator's manifestation in Christ. He cherished that his parents brought him up within the loving communion of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), beginning in Shelbyville, TN and during the past five years in Nashville he flourished spiritually with the Vine Street Christian Church growing with the teaching and pastor ship of The Rev. Dr. Thomas Kleinert.
One of the strongest hallmarks of Billy's character and heart was how he treasured his lifelong friends from Shelbyville. He also readily made many new friends as he and his wife traveled and moved around the country during the past 30 years. He held childhood friends close to his heart, remembering the details of every adventure and the specialness stories of adventures with each one. Billy's great passion was a love of all great music and making music. He enjoyed eight wonderful years playing his guitar all over Texas with several different bands until he was physically unable to play in most recent years. His great claim to music "fame" was opening for Michael Martin Murphy in The Woodlands Texas with one of his bands.
Billy loved all animals and he and Debra took great joy in raising their five dachshunds over the course of their years together.
