William L. "Bill" Ethridge, Jr. - Age 84, of Kingston Springs passed away August 18, 2017.

He was born in rural Humphries County, TN in a log cabin on the banks of Tumbling Creek near Bold Springs. Except for two years that the family resided in Michigan during WW2 and the four year tour of duty in the U.S. Navy 1955-59, Bill lived and worked in the state of Tennessee. Bill attended Harmony Elementary school near Water Valley, TN., a one room teacher school, before entering McEwen High School and graduating in 1952. He excelled in sports and was the captain and most valuable player for the football team. After graduation he joined the Navy with his boyhood friend and became a petty officer first class before leaving the Navy in 1959. He began working as a research technician for Aladdin in Nashville and rose to the position of chief technician of the research division at Aladdin before retiring. Chances are that some of the kitchenware that a person uses may have been developed by him and his team.

Preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Louise Ethridge; parents, Martha Francis Betty Ethridge & William L. Ethridge, Sr.; sisters, Willodean Westerman, Chloe Ann Taylor & Carol Jean Ethridge. Survived by his children, Deborah Isom (Robert John Erisman, II) & David Luke Harvey; grandchildren, Brandi Conrad, Brittney Pekas (Mitchell), Kenin Christopher Harvey (Deborah), Hayley Harvey & Ashley Isom; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest Ethridge (Betty) of Shreveport, La; brothers-in-law, David Delbridge, Dorris Delbridge and Bill Taylor; several extended family and friends.

A Graveside service will be held 1pm, Wednesday, August 23rd at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
