William Forester Richardson (William), 21, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away June 9, 2017. He was born March 13, 1996, in Nashville, the son of William Scott and Marcia Forester Richardson. William was a member of First Presbyterian Church and attended The Oak Hill School. He graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in 2015, a National Merit Finalist and a member of the Cum Laude Society. William was enrolled at the University of Mississippi in the Sally Barksdale Honors College, the Croft School of International Studies, and the Chinese Language Flagship Program. He was named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order.

William loved playing varsity lacrosse and especially enjoyed traveling on the No-Excuse Lacrosse team. He was an avid outdoorsman, with an affinity for duck hunting and fishing. William inherited a gift for cooking from his father. He studied in China multiple times and channeled his expertise in the language and culture into authentic Chinese cooking. Music, however, was William's primary passion. While self-taught, William mastered the guitar, mandolin, and banjo. His astounding talent and love for music brought friends and family closer. William had a rare and brilliant mind. He was profoundly humble. His easy laughter, quick smile, and gentlemanly manner forever impacted all whose lives he touched.

William is survived by his parents, William Scott and Marcia Forester Richardson; his sister, Kathleen Grace Richardson; his grandparents, Mrs. Marcial Forester (Gladys) of Jackson, Mississippi and Mr. Richard B. Richardson (Dick) of Nashville. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Grace Ball Richardson and grandfather, Marcial Davidson Forester. The visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church in the Cheek House on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 9:30 am, with the service to follow at 11:30 in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Montgomery Bell Academy, 4001 Harding Road, Nashville, TN 37205 for the purpose of an endowed annual award to a senior who espouses William's values and attributes.
