William Howard "Pick" Gaddes peacefully entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 08, 2017. Pick was born on February 12, 1930 in Bellevue, Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Katherine Gaddes, brother J. C. Gaddes and sister Mary Alice Felts.

Survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Catherine Henderson Gaddes, daughter Johnia (David) Browning, Steve Gaddes, niece Sue Garay and two grandchildren that were the joy of his life Anna Katherine "Katie" and Nathaniel better known to him as "little man".

Pick was a 1950 graduate of Bellevue High School. He had such fond memories of school especially when it came to playing football. He was well known for his football skills and many times would say "if I could only play one more game". He was offered football scholarships to different colleges, but had to forgo them in order to support his family because of his father's death.

He worked 45 years for the Nashville Bridge Company overseeing the mechanical department of the barge construction.

Pick's world revolved around his grandchildren. Seldom did he ever miss a dance recital, vocal performance or sporting event for which they were participating. He greatly loved watching football, gardening and working in the yard. He was loved by everyone and usually ended up giving everyone a sweet smile, laugh, and a funny nickname.

He was a long time member of the Bellevue Methodist Church and in his later years Christ Church and Aspen Grove Christian Church. In his younger years he was always very active within the church and his love for God shined in all that he did. His gentleness and kindness was a true example of living out God's Commandments.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 11, 2017. Services will be conducted by Adam Kaufhold. Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. on Friday February 10, 2017 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the missions of Aspen Grove Christian Church, 274 Mallory Station Road, Franklin, TN. 37067
