William Jack Marshall, Jr., was born August 31, 1944 in Yuma, Arizona, the son of William Jack Marshall and Wilma Dorleen Latimer. He spent his childhood in French Morocco and in Maryland, graduating from Surrattsville High School, Clinton, Maryland, in June 1962. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1966, with service in Okinawa and Japan. He graduated in 1971 from George Washington University with a BA in accounting and graduated with a master's degree in accounting and financial management in 1975. He received his Certificate of Completion as a Certified Financial Planner from the College for Financial Planning in 2000.
William Jack Marshall, Jr., was a self-employed building contractor for a number of years, then worked as a product research and developer of microcomputer systems and sales, followed by years as corporate controller and plant manager of Lexalite International Corporation located in Michigan and in Dickson, Tennessee, followed by years as a Certified Financial Planner and investment advisor, as well as a life, health, disability, and long-term care licensed agent, retiring in 2003.
William Jack Marshall, Jr., was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Nashville, Tennessee, serving as its president for several years, and then became a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Nashville, Tennessee, serving as its president, also, for several years, as well as vice-president and treasurer. He was a licensed single engine pilot and enjoyed playing softball, golf, and tennis. He spent his latter years in Bible study and reading Scripture and also captaining his pontoon boat and fishing.
William Jack Marshall, Jr., died Friday, May 23, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Koska Marshall, his two sons, Trevor Marshall of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Wyre Marshall of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his daughter-in-law, Sheron Marshall, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and five grandchildren, Michelle, Robert, Finn, William, and Caroline Marshall. He is also survived by two brothers, Greg and Doug Marshall.
A Memorial Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 800 Bellevue Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37221, on Friday, May 30, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., followed by internment of his remains at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at Redeemer Lutheran Church following the interment service. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to The Lutheran Heritage Foundation, 51474 Romeo Plank Road, Macomb, Michigan 48042.
