William Robert Tulloss, known affectionately as Bill, passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2024, just a day after celebrating his 96th birthday. Born on September 18, 1928, in Nashville, Tennessee, Bill lived a life marked by dedication, achievement, and a passion for his interests.
Bill's professional journey began after he graduated from Tennessee Preparatory School in 1948. He started his career with the Nashville Banner, where he worked diligently from 1948 to 1957. Bill transitioned to Ford Motor Company, committed to excellence for thirty-two years before his retirement.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bill was an avid golfer, often found enjoying the sport that brought him joy and friendship over the years. He also had a skill for capturing moments through photography. A devoted fan of Vanderbilt University, Bill took pride in supporting the institution and its athletic teams.
Bill was also known for his high school accomplishment by earning the title of Gloden Glove boxer. An achievement that inspired determination and perseverance throughout his life.
Though Bill’s hobbies kept him busy, “Papaw” loved any activity that involved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Doris Tulloss, wife, Alene Tulloss, sister, Lillian Tulloss, and grandson, Zachary Davis.
He is survived by his daughter, Valarie Ann Tulloss Davis (James “Andy” Davis), grandchildren, Samuel William Davis, Robert Michael Davis, Alexander James Davis, and great-grandchildren, Annaleigh Jude Davis, and Morgan Paige Davis.
Visitation and graveside services scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens and Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at 2:15 PM.
