William Joseph Breedlove

William Joseph Breedlove, 87, passed away on April 21, 2022, at his home in Nashville, TN.

Billy Joe was born to the late Oscar Claiborn Breedlove and Catherine Flair Breedlove on September 3, 1934, in Nashville Tennessee.  After playing quarterback on the football team and playing basketball for the Cumberland Indians, he graduated then married his high school sweetheart Billie Jean Schroeder on April 1, 1955.  He spent 2 years in the Navy before starting a long career in the heating and air conditioning business. In 1982, he started his own company, Breedlove Heating and Air, serving the community until he retired. Upon retirement he turned the company over to Russ and Larry.

Whether you knew him as Billy Joe, Bill, Wille, Dad or Granddaddy, he always had a smile on his face, loved to cut up, aggravate and tell silly jokes.  Everyone knew he could build and fix anything. He loved sports and spent countless hours at ballgames.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was also a member of the Bellevue Church of Christ for 50 years.

Billy Joe was proceeded in death by his mother, Catherine Breedlove, father, Oscar Breedlove, stepmother, Lois Breedlove, brothers, Oscar Jr., Glenn and Roy Breedlove, sisters, Virginia Dee Kaylor, Jewell Spurlock, Thelma Sager.

Billy Joe is survived by his wife of 67 years, Billie Jean Breedlove, sons, Mark (Sandra) Breedlove, Larry (Becky) Breedlove, Russ (Jan) Breedlove, grandchildren, Brian (Laura Beth) Breedlove, Corey (Abby) Breedlove, Meredith Breedlove, Mallory Breedlove, Katie Breedlove, Emily Breedlove, Ben Macer, great grandchildren, William Breedlove and Ansley Breedlove, sisters, Frances Martin and Nancy Wilsford.

Visitation with the family will begin on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 10:00 am until service time at 11:30 am. All services will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN. 37221.
