The joy, laughter, love and smiles brought by Edward York Gerlock for 62 years will remain long after his passing at Alive Hospice on April 1, 2021. York will be remembered for his love for family and friends and his many gifts he freely and happily shared. He had a 30-year commitment to his job at Goodwill Industries, where he was surrounded by support and friends and was known as the “Ladies’ Man.” York enjoyed sports, puzzles, country music, shows at Opryland, and travel and adventures with his family. He loved socializing with both friends and passers-by. York coined countless phrases that brought many laughs and that will long be remembered—and often used. He was patient and accepting of the special challenges he sometimes faced and had support from helpers and friends at Mid-TN Supported Living. York had a colorful and fulfilling life.
York was born on Nov. 12, 1958, and is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Gerlock; sister, Kym Gerlock; brothers, Scott Gerlock and Jeff Gerlock (Lori); nieces, Laura Gerlock, Eden Gerlock, Nina Jackson, Abbey Jackson, Lexi Gerlock, Jenna Gerlock; nephew, Julien Gerlock; half-brother, Chip Gerlock (Jan) and half-sister, SanDee Gerlock-Doffing (Joe). He was preceded in death by his aunt, Eunice Floyd, and father, Frank Gerlock, Jr.
