Mrs. Zenaida Morales Ricafort, age 79, passed away on August 20, 2016 in Nashville, TN with her family by her side. She was born on July 5, 1937, the fourth of eight children to Faustino and Amalia (Catolico) Morales, in Amulung Cagayan, Philippines.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Robustiano, Nicanor, Faustino Jr, and Antonio Morales. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Enrico I. Ricafort, her children, Erwin M. Ricafort, Rachel M. Ricafort, Christine R. Bertani (Christopher), grandchildren Mia and William Bertani, sisters Erlinda Sy, Virginia De Jesus, Ramona Pasimio, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Primarily a wife and mother, Zenaida spent her working career as a nurse. First as a nurse in the Philippines. Later as an operating room nurse at Vanderbilt University Hospital . She continued as a nurse for about thirty years before finally retiring and helping manage her husband's dental practice for another ten years.

She was very active in the local Filipino-American community and often volunteered her time for medical missions both locally and abroad. Her last medical mission was to the Philippines with her husband in February 2016. We will always remember her for her love of music, dance, cooking, and her creativity. She loved playing mahjong with her friends and cooking for her friends and family. She was quick to light up the stage by singing with her sisters, dancing with her husband, or even performing, with her former class mates during a class reunion, a hip hop tune she wrote herself. She will surely be missed by all.

Viewing will be held at St. Henry Catholic Church on August 26 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm with the Rosary prayed at 6:30 pm. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Henry on August 27 at 11:00am . This Mass is open to all faiths. St; Henry Catholic Church is located at 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205
